In response to the aftermath of Tropical Storm Helene, several Farmer Recovery Centers will be established in December to assist farmers and related businesses. These centers aim to provide a comprehensive range of resources and information regarding technical and financial disaster relief. The initiative is particularly targeted at survivors within the agriculture sector in Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Johnson, Unicoi, and Washington counties who may qualify for additional aid.
The Farmer Recovery Centers will operate from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST on the following dates and locations:
– Tuesday, December 10: USDA Service Center, 214 N College Street, Greeneville, TN 37745
– Wednesday, December 11: USDA Service Center, 2942 Highway 394, Blountville, TN 37617
– Thursday, December 12: Cherry Grove Baptist Church, 104 Cherry Grove Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659
Attendees will have the opportunity to consult with representatives from various organizations, including the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Department of Agriculture, Tennessee Department of Agriculture, University of Tennessee Ag Extension, Tennessee State University Ag Extension, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. These representatives will provide detailed information about the available resources to support farm recovery efforts.

Tennessee’s Rural Healthcare Resiliency Grant Initiative
The Tennessee Department of Health has introduced the Rural Healthcare Resiliency Program, a $50 million grant initiative aimed at enhancing healthcare services in 89 rural counties within the state. Supported by Governor Bill Lee and the TennCare Shared Savings Program, the grants will fund 15 to 25 projects that focus on integrated healthcare services, innovative care models, and improving access for underserved communities.
