The citywide annual performance evaluation program for 2025 is set to begin on January 1. This year’s evaluation process will follow the same format as the previous year, 2024.
For all eligible employees, the evaluations will commence on January 1, with a submission deadline of March 1, 2025. However, for police department evaluations, the deadline extends to March 31, 2025. Employees who complete their 12-month probationary evaluation between September and December will not participate in the 2025 annual evaluation program.
The evaluation will maintain the same competencies used last year, each contributing 20% to the total score. These competencies include Job Knowledge, Accountability, Customer Focus, Ethics, and Decision Making.
1. **Job Knowledge**: Employees are expected to demonstrate the necessary skills and abilities for successful job performance, stay updated on job methods, and share knowledge to improve operations.
2. **Accountability**: Employees should take responsibility for their actions, complete work efficiently, and collaborate with coworkers. Regular attendance and minimal unscheduled absences are also emphasized.
3. **Customer Focus**: Excellence in customer service for both internal and external customers is required. Employees should communicate effectively, resolve customer issues promptly, and maintain a welcoming demeanor.
4. **Ethics**: Employees must adhere to city and departmental policies, act with integrity, and address ethical issues appropriately.
5. **Decision Making**: Employees should exhibit sound decision-making abilities, efficiently manage resources, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
An essential part of the evaluation process includes a face-to-face review. Supervisors are encouraged to schedule in-person meetings to discuss evaluations with employees, rather than relying solely on electronic systems like NEOGOV. This approach aims to foster constructive feedback and provide opportunities for employees to engage in meaningful discussions.
