Coordination between a carjacking victim, MNPD robbery detectives, and Montgomery County authorities led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man from Clarksville, identified as Richmond F. Cheah. Cheah was apprehended after allegedly targeting a victim in a parking garage at Green Hills Mall. He reportedly followed a 62-year-old woman into the mall, waited for her, and later approached her in the parking garage, showing a pistol and demanding her keys and purse. The victim complied, allowing Cheah to drive off in her Mercedes sedan.
Using tracking technology, detectives traced the stolen vehicle to Clarksville, where local police apprehended Cheah after a pursuit. Cheah, who initially refused to provide his identity, now faces a Davidson County arrest warrant for aggravated robbery and will be returned from Clarksville for further proceedings.
