Bridge Repair on SR 93 Causes Weekend Closure

SR 93 in Sullivan County to close for bridge repairs from December 7-8.

Motorists in Sullivan County should prepare for temporary traffic disruptions due to scheduled bridge repair work on State Route 93 (John B. Dennis Highway). Starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, the highway will be closed to traffic between Moreland Drive and Lincoln Street as construction crews undertake necessary repairs on the bridge. The closure is expected to last until 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 8.

During this period, drivers will be redirected to use State Route 126 (Wilcox Drive) and Lincoln Street as alternate routes around the construction area. The planned schedule for these repairs is dependent on favorable weather conditions.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution when driving near the work zone, as construction personnel will be active in the area. It is advised that drivers utilize available travel information resources to stay informed about current traffic conditions and plan their routes accordingly. The public is reminded of the importance of road safety and encouraged to avoid distractions such as tweeting, texting, or engaging in phone conversations while driving.
