The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) has finalized and published the region football schedules for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The detailed schedules can be accessed online through the TSSAA website. Interested parties can view all schedules via this link or directly on the TSSAA sports portal here.
Athletic directors and coaches have been equipped with an interactive scheduling tool to assist them in arranging non-region games. This tool helps identify available schools on the same week looking for a game. Administrators and coaches can manage their schedules by logging into the TSSAA Portal, using the Change School/Year option to switch to the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school year.
The schedules are designed to ensure local officiating crews are available for games at specified dates and locations. While schools can agree to reschedule region games, such changes may affect the availability of local officials on Friday nights. The state office gives priority for local officiating crews to games scheduled on Fridays. Any alterations, including moving region games, will be managed on a first-come, first-served basis for officials based on the updates on the 2025 TSSAA Portal schedule. Games without local officiating on Fridays will need to be played on a different day.
In the final week of the regular season, Week 11, all schools will have a region game. To ensure coverage by officials, games will alternate between Thursday and Friday. In 2025, games for odd-numbered classes will be on Friday and even-numbered classes on Thursday, reversing in 2026. Schools may swap home games in Week 11 but cannot alter the game day.
Schools should notify the state office of any potential changes to their schedules using this form or by contacting Richard McWhirter at the state office. Changes to non-region games should not be submitted through this form.
Richard McWhirter of the state office stated, “If both the host and visitor use the same officials association, there will be no issue with swapping home and away in those cases. However, any other moves or swaps could impact the availability of a local crew on Friday, and schools may want to discuss potential changes with us.”
A total of 956 contests have been scheduled, including additional non-region games that Division II AA and AAA schools will compete in during the 2025 and 2026 seasons. There are no region games planned for Weeks 1 and 2, while Week 11 will see 158 region games, with 84 scheduled for Friday and 74 for Thursday in 2025.
