Three Arrested for Climbing AT&T Building in Nashville

Three men arrested for climbing to the top of Nashville's AT&T Building.

Three men from out of state were arrested for aggravated trespassing and disorderly conduct after climbing to the top of the AT&T Building in Nashville, Tennessee. The individuals, identified as Jacob Thomas Cieszynski, 26, from Chicago; Chase Cooper Lester, 26, from Culloden, Georgia; and Ryan James McGarrity, 20, from Laguna Woods, California, were apprehended by police on Sunday afternoon.

The incident began when an alert citizen noticed three men on top of the building and contacted authorities. Officers from the Central Precinct, using binoculars, confirmed the presence of the men near the building’s spire and the AT&T logo. Despite their efforts, neither the officers nor the police helicopter could immediately locate the men on the roof. A thorough search of the building led to their discovery hiding in a locked restroom stall on the 24th floor.

During the arrest, officers found burglary tools, including a crowbar and a screwdriver, in Lester’s backpack. The men were reportedly carrying several cameras, including a GoPro. One of the individuals mentioned that they had heard the AT&T Building offered one of the best views of Nashville, prompting their actions.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department praised the citizen who reported the suspicious activity, emphasizing the importance of community vigilance in preventing such incidents.
