The 2024 TSSAA Cheer and Dance State Championships took place at the Knoxville Convention Center on November 15-16, 2024, with participation from over 3700 student-athletes. This year marked the introduction of the “Spirit Program” championship, a first in the nation, where cheer teams, dance teams, and mascots from participating schools competed together. Hendersonville High School and Ellis Middle School achieved significant recognition by winning the first-ever Spirit Program State Championships at the high school and middle school levels respectively.
In the Middle School Cheerleading category, the champions included Grassland Middle School for Game Day (Large), Thompson’s Station Middle School for Game Day (Small), Brentwood Middle School for Large, Station Camp Middle School for Small, and Rockvale Middle School for Non-Tumbling.
For High School Cheerleading, the winners were Liberty Creek High School for Game Day (Super Varsity), Briarcrest Christian School for Game Day (Large Varsity), Hendersonville High School for Game Day (Medium Varsity), Lausanne Collegiate School for Game Day (Small Varsity), Brentwood High School for Large Varsity, Ravenwood High School for Small Varsity, Stewarts Creek High School for both Large and Small Varsity Co-Ed, and Siegel High School for Non-Tumbling.
Middle School Dance champions were West Valley Middle School for Game Day, Arlington Middle School for Hip Hop, Farragut Middle School for both Jazz and Pom.
In the High School Dance category, Bearden High School won Game Day (Large Varsity) and Pom (Large Varsity), Warren Co. High School won Game Day (Small Varsity), Oak Ridge High School won Hip Hop (Large Varsity), Station Camp High School won Hip Hop (Small Varsity), Ravenwood High School won Jazz (Large Varsity), Farragut High School won Jazz (Small Varsity) and Pom (Small Varsity), and Dyersburg High School won Kick (Varsity).
Ellis Middle School and Hendersonville High School were crowned champions in the Middle School and High School Spirit Program categories, respectively.

TSSAA Announces 2025-2026 Football Schedules
The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) has released the region football schedules for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, which are available online through the TSSAA website. An interactive scheduling tool is provided for athletic directors and coaches to arrange non-region games, and the schedules prioritize local officiating crews for Friday night games. The final week of the regular season will feature region games alternating between Thursday and Friday, with schools needing to notify the state office for schedule changes. A total of 956 contests have been set, and specific regulations apply to game scheduling and officiating crew availability.
