Nashville Men Arrested with Drugs and Weapons

Two Nashville men were rearrested with drugs and a fully automatic pistol.

Two men in Nashville, previously released on bond, were rearrested on Wednesday night. Acuma Juma, 23, was initially free on a $70,000 bond after being charged last month with felony gun and marijuana possession. His recent arrest involved driving a stolen car containing a modified fully automatic pistol under his seat. In addition to the firearm, law enforcement discovered a bag containing oxycodone pills and over $2,200 in cash. Further investigation of the stolen Infiniti Q50 revealed a backpack with more illegal substances, including additional pills, crystal meth, cocaine, and crack cocaine. Juma is now being held on a $192,000 bond for multiple charges related to theft, drugs, and firearms.

Deng Akok, 24, was also free on a $23,000 bond due to previous felony charges involving cocaine and a firearm. Akok now faces additional charges of vehicle theft, several drug offenses, and trespassing, resulting in a $157,000 bond.

The arrests of Juma and Akok occurred while Vehicle Crimes detectives conducted surveillance on a stolen Nissan Maxima at a Hobson Pike apartment complex. Upon arrival in the stolen Infiniti, the men were joined by Samuel Andrew, 24, the driver of the Maxima. Detectives arrested all three individuals. Andrew is charged with two counts of vehicle theft, misdemeanor drug possession, and criminal trespassing, with his bond set at $38,000.
