Knoxville’s 99th Veterans Day Parade is scheduled to take place on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 10:45 a.m. The event, organized by the American Legion Post 2 and supported by the City of Knoxville’s Office of Special Events, will proceed along Gay Street, regardless of weather conditions.
To accommodate the parade, certain road closures will begin at 8 a.m. These include E. Hill Avenue between Hall of Fame Drive and Gay Street, Main Street between Walnut and Gay streets, and Gay Street between Main Street and E. Hill Avenue. Additional closures at 9 a.m. will affect Market Street between Union and Clinch avenues, and Union Avenue between Walnut and Gay streets. Gay Street between Main Street and E. Fifth Avenue will close at 10:15 a.m. All roads are expected to reopen by 12:30 p.m.
On-street parking on Gay Street will not be available starting at 7 a.m., as well as parking on Market Street, Union, and Wall avenues. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, with free parking offered in City-owned garages and metered spaces outside the parade zone in recognition of Veterans Day.

Knoxville Transit Offers Free Election Day Rides
Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) will provide free transit rides, including paratransit services, on November 5th to facilitate access to polling stations for all community members, supporting civic engagement by removing transportation barriers.
