Homicide detectives are actively investigating the fatal shooting of 39-year-old Hwarang Joo, which occurred Sunday night in the parking lot of a shopping complex at 1350 Bell Road in Nashville. Joo, who owned a chicken restaurant in the complex, was shot while seated in his Volkswagen SUV shortly before 11 p.m., after leaving his business. The vehicle then accelerated and crashed into a dental office at 1315 Bell Road, resulting in significant damage.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Information provided to Crime Stoppers can be given anonymously, and there is a potential cash reward of up to $5,000 for tips leading to an arrest.
