Felon Charged After Nashville Shootout

A shootout in Nashville involving a convicted felon injured an innocent bystander.

Ladon Ervin, a 41-year-old convicted felon, has been detained following a shootout at the Dirty Car carwash on Bell Road in Nashville on November 22. This incident marks his third arrest this year. Officers responded to reports of gunfire, where two men were seen exchanging shots before fleeing the scene. Surveillance footage revealed Ervin exiting his Jeep Grand Cherokee, confronting another man, and firing a handgun into the ground. The second man also drew a weapon, leading to a back-and-forth exchange of gunfire. Authorities are continuing their efforts to identify the second shooter involved in the incident.

After sustaining a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, Ervin drove himself to Southern Hills Medical Center. A handgun and ammunition were recovered from his vehicle. Meanwhile, a bystander was injured by shrapnel approximately a quarter-mile from the carwash. The man, struck in the ear, was walking near Extreme Cuts Barber Shop when he heard a loud noise. He sustained a graze wound but declined hospital transport.

Upon his release from the hospital, Ervin was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of a weapon as a felon. His bond has been set at $190,000. Earlier this year, Ervin faced charges of aggravated assault in July following an altercation at TNT’s Billiards Bar and Grill. He was previously released on a $50,000 bond for that incident and a $14,000 bond for a February arrest involving DUI and possession of a weapon. Ervin is a registered ex-convict with prior offenses related to weapons and drugs.
