In observance of Veterans Day, several city offices and facilities in Murfreesboro will be closed on Monday, November 11. This day is dedicated to honoring the heroism of the nation’s veterans.
On November 11, City Hall and other city offices will not be operational. The Murfreesboro Transit, the city’s public transportation system, will also be non-operational. Garbage collection will be adjusted, with no collection scheduled for Monday. Instead, Monday’s collection will occur on Tuesday, and Tuesday’s collection will be moved to Wednesday.
Golf enthusiasts can visit the City Golf courses, Old Fort and Bloomfield Links, which will remain open during regular hours. Similarly, the Adams Tennis Complex will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
However, several other facilities will be closed, including the Bradley Academy Museum and Cultural Center, Cannonsburgh Village, McFadden Community Center, Patterson Park Community Center, St. Clair Street Senior Center, Sports*Com, and Wilderness Station.
Additionally, the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) campus will host the 42nd Annual Salute to Veterans and Armed Forces ceremony at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 9. This event will take place during the pregame ceremonies at Floyd Stadium, where the Blue Raiders will face the Liberty Flames at noon.
On Saturday, November 16, the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System will hold its Annual Veterans Day Parade at the York VA Medical Center Campus located at 3400 Lebanon Rd. The festivities are set to begin at 10 a.m., followed by the parade starting at 11 a.m.

The City of Murfreesboro has launched the “Count Me In” campaign for the 2025 Special Census to accurately count its growing population, projected to reach 170,000. Residents can participate online or via mailed postcards, with data used exclusively for census purposes. Accurate data could increase state-shared revenue, enhancing public services. Efforts include various marketing activities and door-to-door campaigns to ensure broad participation before the March 1 deadline.
