Main Street Murfreesboro is hosting the “Celebrate Christmas Downtown” event on Friday, December 6, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. This festive occasion is set to take place around the historic Rutherford County Courthouse, featuring a variety of holiday traditions and activities for all ages.
The event will include a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on the east side of the courthouse, scheduled to take place between 6:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Attendees can look forward to a range of free activities for children, live stage performances, and carriage rides available for $20 per carriage. Additionally, a live nativity scene and live reindeer will add to the festive atmosphere.
Families can enjoy free photos with Santa, who will be available inside the courthouse until 9:00 p.m. The evening will also feature a showing of “The Christmas Carol” (Jim Carrey version) on the big screen at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The event will be hosted by Emcee Kara Kemp, alongside Rutherford County Mayor Joe Carr, who will welcome attendees at 6:00 p.m. Throughout the night, visitors can enjoy various food trucks and children’s activities spread throughout the area.
