Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, has been nominated for the 2024 Arena of the Year award by Pollstar Magazine. This marks the 17th consecutive nomination and 20th overall for the arena, which is home to the NHL’s Nashville Predators. In addition, David Kells, the Chief Venues Officer for Bridgestone Arena and the Nashville Predators, has been nominated for the Venue Executive of the Year for the 10th time. Kells previously won this accolade in 2017 and 2022. The award honors venue executives who demonstrate operational competence, marketing expertise, and business acumen.
David Kells expressed gratitude for the nomination and acknowledged the contributions of the staff, fans, and the music and touring community that have helped establish Bridgestone Arena as a premier destination. In Pollstar’s 2024 Mid-Year Report, Bridgestone Arena ranked seventh in the United States for ticket sales and 16th worldwide for gross revenue. Between November 16, 2023, and May 15, 2024, the arena sold 458,998 tickets and generated $40,457,300 in revenue from concerts and shows.
In 2024, Bridgestone Arena has hosted 29 first-time headline performers and 140 events, including sold-out shows featuring artists such as Drake, Billy Strings, Tyler Childers, Noah Kahan, and Chris Stapleton. It also hosted the Annual Country Music Awards for the 18th time and the SEC Basketball Tournament for the 19th time.
The Arena of the Year award recognizes venues that excel in programming, promotion, marketing, production quality, and fan and artist experiences, alongside consistent box office success. Bridgestone Arena previously won this award in 2014, 2017, and 2023.
Other nominees for the 2024 Arena of the Year award include Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA; Madison Square Garden in New York, NY; Moody Center in Austin, TX; Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, OK; Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY; and Sphere in Las Vegas, NV.
Pollstar’s Venue Executive of the Year nominees include Becky Colwell, Christy Castillo Butcher, Jeff Nickler, Randy Fibiger, and Rich MacKeigan, representing various prominent venues across the country.
