Woman Arrested in Boyfriend’s Shooting Death in Murfreesboro

Woman charged with second-degree murder in Murfreesboro shooting incident.

Murfreesboro, Tenn. – On October 14, 2024, detectives from the Murfreesboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division arrested a local woman in connection with the shooting death of her live-in boyfriend. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, October 13, at The Southern – Apartment Homes located on Lascassas Pike.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Shaquira Brown, has been charged with second-degree homicide following the death of 27-year-old Jaleel Turner. According to the preliminary investigation, the shooting took place inside the apartment after an argument between Brown and Turner.

Shaquira Brown is currently held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center with a bond set at $750,000. A court hearing is scheduled for January 8 in Rutherford County General Sessions Court.
