Woman Admits to 2018 Hit and Run Incident

A woman confesses to a 2018 fatal hit and run in Nashville.

A 32-year-old woman, Kara Vaughn, has been booked on a second-degree murder charge after confessing to her involvement in a fatal hit and run incident that occurred in September 2018. The victim, Markeith Bass, 34, died in the crash on Trinity Lane near Brick Church Pike in Nashville. Vaughn, who has been in custody since 2022 on unrelated charges, admitted her actions to a Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Corporal in February 2023. She confessed to running over her ex-boyfriend, Bass, while intoxicated and driving a stolen maroon SUV. Vaughn claimed that she acted out of anger and decided to come forward to clear her conscience.

Nephew Charged in Hit-and-Run Escape

Orlin Argueta-Zuniga, the nephew of hit-and-run suspect Walter Daneris Zuniga, has been arrested for assisting his uncle in fleeing to Mexico after a fatal accident in Nashville that killed 10-year-old Emily Sanchez-Ramirez. Argueta-Zuniga is charged with being an accessory and making a false report, while efforts continue to extradite Zuniga. Sanchez-Ramirez’s mother remains hospitalized.
