The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced a temporary closure of the I-55 Mississippi River Bridge in Memphis, Tennessee, to facilitate ongoing construction work on the I-55 and Crump interchange. The closure is scheduled for this weekend and is contingent on favorable weather conditions. This marks the fifth of eight weekend closures allowed under the current contract.
The bridge will be closed from Saturday, October 26, at 4:00 am through Monday, October 28, at 6:00 am. During this period, I-55 Southbound will be closed at Bridgeport Road in Arkansas, and I-55 Northbound will be closed at South Parkway in Tennessee, with local traffic allowed to continue to the McLemore exit. Additionally, the I-55 Southbound ramp and Crump Boulevard Westbound will be closed. Detour routes will be clearly posted for drivers.
