From October 9-16, 2024, various road construction projects in West Tennessee will result in potential daytime and nighttime lane closures across the region. Spanning 21 counties, these projects include resurfacing, bridge repairs, and intersection improvements. Here are a few key projects and their expected impacts:
In Benton County, I-40 will undergo resurfacing from S.R. 69 to the Humphreys County line, causing nighttime lane closures and intermittent ramp closures. Also, SR 391 will see temporary lane closures due to resurfacing work from US 70W to US 70E.
Carroll County’s SR-76 (US-79) will also face lane closures due to grading, drainage, and paving work. Meadowbrook Lane will be closed with a detour set up. Additional improvements at the Huntingdon Industrial Park entrance will result in lane closures at SR-22 intersections.
In Dyer County, the repair work on US 412 (SR 20) and SR-211 bridges will lead to temporary lane closures. I-155 resurfacing, bridge expansion joint repairs, and ramp closures will also occur.
Gibson and Carroll Counties will experience temporary lane closures due to construction work on SR-76 (US-79), including the building of a concrete box bridge.
Henry and Weakley Counties will see temporary lane closures on SR-22 due to resurfacing projects. Obion County will also experience similar closures on SR22.
In District 48, Chester County will have lane closures for bridge repairs on U.S. 45. Crockett and Gibson Counties will see resurfacing work on SR 152 causing lane closures. In Decatur and Hardin Counties, SR 69 resurfacing will lead to temporary closures, while Madison County will have multiple projects causing lane closures, including on I-40 and US 412.
District 49 will see work in Fayette County, where SR-222 and SR-76 construction will lead to lane closures and detours. In Lauderdale County, resurfacing on US-51 (SR-3) and SR-19 will result in single-lane closures. Shelby County will face nighttime lane closures on major routes like SR-3, SR-4, and SR-23 due to resurfacing and widening projects. The I-55/Crump interchange will have ongoing closures and detours for construction work.
