Between October 2 and 9, 2024, drivers in West Tennessee should anticipate possible daytime and nighttime lane closures at various locations across Region 4 as construction crews work on repairs and new installations. This work spans across 21 counties. Here is a summary of the expected disruptions:
In Benton County, resurfacing on I-40 from S.R. 69 to the Humphreys County line will cause nighttime lane and intermittent ramp closures. Similar resurfacing on SR 391 will also result in temporary lane closures.
Carroll County will see lane closures on SR-76 (US-79) due to grading, drainage, and paving work. Meadowbrook Lane will remain closed, with detours in place. Additionally, intersection improvements on SR-22 will lead to lane closures at key points.
In Dyer County, bridge repairs on SR-20 and inspections on SR-211 will reduce lanes. I-155 resurfacing will also cause lane closures.
Gibson and Carroll Counties will experience temporary lane closures on SR-76 due to construction and paving activities.
Henry and Weakley Counties will see resurfacing work on SR-22 causing temporary lane closures.
In Obion County, resurfacing on SR22 will lead to temporary lane restrictions.
District 48 includes Chester County, where bridge repairs on U.S. 45 will result in lane closures for southbound traffic. Crockett and Gibson Counties will face lane closures on SR 152 due to resurfacing work. Decatur and Hardin Counties will also experience temporary lane closures due to ongoing resurfacing projects.
In Madison County, work on U.S. 412 will cause temporary lane closures, and floating maintenance on US70 will result in daytime restrictions from October 2-9.
District 49 will see Fayette County affected by grading and paving on SR-222, leading to temporary lane closures and a reduced speed limit.
In Lauderdale County, resurfacing work on US-51 and SR-371 will affect traffic flow, with at least one lane open at all times.
Shelby County will have rolling roadblocks due to digital message sign replacements, affecting I-40, US 51, and Sam Cooper Blvd. Nightly lane closures will be in effect on SR-3 and SR-4 for resurfacing and widening activities. Additional closures will occur on I-55 due to ongoing construction work.
Finally, Tipton County will have temporary lane closures for safety improvements on US-51 at Kenwood Avenue.
