The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Board of Control has scheduled a special meeting to take place on Wednesday, October 30 at 9:30 a.m. CDT. The meeting will address appeals from various schools concerning the status of forfeited football games. This meeting will be conducted via video conference call, and live audio will be accessible at this link.
Among the appeals, The Howard School is seeking to secure a forfeit win along with a $2000 fee due to a game that was scheduled with Rhea County High School but did not occur. Lookout Valley High School is appealing against its postseason ban for football from 2024 to 2026, a sanction imposed after forfeiting a regional game to South Pittsburg High School. Similarly, Booker T. Washington High School is challenging its postseason ban for the same period and a $2000 fee, following the forfeiture of a regional game against Westwood.
In addition to these appeals, the meeting will also cover two items related to school enrollments and classification. For a detailed outline of the meeting, interested parties can view the full agenda provided in the following document: Board of Control Agenda (October 30, 2024) (PDF).
