Three Men Charged in Nashville Carjacking Incident

Three individuals charged with carjacking and drug possession in Nashville.

Three men have been detained and charged in connection with a carjacking incident that occurred on Wednesday night in Nashville. The suspects, identified as Keithan Patterson, 18, Dillian Smith, 19, and Javontia Kelly, 22, are accused of taking a Nissan Altima at gunpoint from a man and woman seated in the vehicle outside their apartment on Hickory Trace Drive.

According to police, the victims reported that Patterson and Smith approached the car with handguns, demanding the occupants to exit the vehicle. After complying, the suspects drove away in the Altima.

Robbery Investigations detectives were able to locate the stolen vehicle approximately 30 minutes later on Foothill Drive. They followed the car to the 3800 block of Dickerson Pike, where they managed to stop the vehicle. Upon stopping, the suspects fled on foot but were quickly apprehended by law enforcement officers.

Authorities recovered two guns, marijuana, digital scales, pills, and several cell phones from the scene and the vehicle. In addition to the carjacking charges, Patterson and Kelly face charges of felony drug possession. Patterson is being held on a $117,500 bond, while Kelly and Smith are each jailed on a $100,000 bond. Photos of the suspects are not being released at this time, as the investigation continues.

The investigation is being handled by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
