The Department of Safety and Homeland Security has announced temporary closures for several driver services centers and clerk partner locations in the Chattanooga area. The closures are scheduled for the installation of new credentialing equipment and self-service kiosks.
On Monday, October 14, the Athens Driver Services Center, located at 9 East Madison Avenue, Suite 100 in Athens, will be closed. The Crossville Driver Services Center will also close on this day but will reopen on Tuesday, October 15.
On Tuesday, October 15, the following locations will be closed: Bradley County Clerk (155 N Ocoee Street, Cleveland), Grundy County Clerk (68 Cumberland Street, Altamont), McMinn County Clerk (9 East Madison Avenue, Suite 100, Athens), and Rhea County Clerk (375 Church Street Suite 101, Dayton).
On Wednesday, October 16, services will be unavailable at the Cleveland Driver Services Center (301 James Asbury Drive NW, Cleveland), Monroe County Clerk (103 College Street, Suite 1, Madisonville), Sequatchie County Clerk (22 Cherry Street, Dunlap), and the Roane County Clerk, which will reopen on Thursday, October 17.
The Chattanooga/Red Bank Driver Services Center (4873 Dayton Blvd., Chattanooga), Hamilton County Clerk Kiosk (6135 Heritage Park Drive, Chattanooga), and Polk County Clerk (6239 Hwy 411 #101, Benton) will be closed on Thursday, October 17.
Finally, on Friday, October 18, the Chattanooga/Bonny Oaks Driver Services and Reinstatement Center (6502 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga) will be closed.
The new self-service kiosks will allow customers to complete various transactions such as renewing or replacing a Driver License or ID Card, changing addresses, updating emergency contact information, and more. These kiosks will support payment methods including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and credit or debit cards.

TDOT Reopens Key Routes After Hurricane Helene
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has reopened State Routes 350 and 133 in Greene and Johnson Counties following significant damage from Hurricane Helene. The storm caused extensive harm, including the destruction of bridges and roadways.
