Twelve Driver Services locations in the Greater Knoxville area will temporarily close next week for the installation of new credentialing equipment and self-service kiosks. The Department of Safety and Homeland Security announced that these closures will affect Driver Services Centers and partner locations in several counties, including Anderson, Campbell, Knox, Loudon, Scott, and Union.
The specific schedule for closures is as follows:
– **Monday, October 28:** Loudon County Clerk at Courthouse Annex, Anderson County Clerk at Andersonville Office, and Anderson County Clerk at Oak Ridge Office.
– **Tuesday, October 29:** Knoxville/Strawberry Plains Driver Services Center and Knoxville/Gore Road Driver Services and Reinstatement Center.
– **Wednesday, October 30:** Knox County Clerk offices at Cedar Bluff, Downtown, East Town, and Halls.
– **Thursday, October 31:** Campbell County Clerk, Scott County Clerk, and Union County Clerk.
Additionally, the Carter County Clerk will close on Wednesday, October 30, and the Tullahoma Driver Services Center will close on Thursday, October 31, for similar upgrades.
The newly installed self-service kiosks offer a variety of Driver Services transactions, including renewing or replacing a Driver License or ID Card, changing addresses, updating emergency contact information, advancing Teen/Graduated Driver Licenses, paying reinstatement fees, and requesting license reissues once reinstatement requirements are satisfied. These kiosks will also support photo capturing and payment processing through Apple Pay, Google Pay, or credit/debit cards.
