A 14-year-old named Jeremiah Smith has been charged with criminal homicide following the fatal shooting of another teenager, Brenden Grady, who was also 14. The incident occurred during an attempted robbery on Friday night outside 154 N. 6th Street in Nashville. According to the investigation, Smith, who was familiar with Grady, tried to rob him of a pistol when he shot him. After the shooting, Smith fled the scene in a stolen Toyota Tundra pickup truck, which had been taken the previous day from Rebecca Street in East Nashville. The truck was later found in a parking garage on S. 5th Street. Smith was subsequently arrested at his grandmother’s residence and is now in juvenile detention, facing charges of criminal homicide, vehicle theft, robbery, and evidence tampering.
