The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s (TDOSHS) Driver Services mobile unit is now stationed at the Elizabethton Driver Services Center, located at 1741 Hwy 19E Bypass, to provide assistance to citizens affected by the recent floods in East Tennessee.
This mobile unit operates from Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. EDT. Currently, it is focused on issuing duplicate identification licenses and driver licenses exclusively to flood victims, and it is not available to the general public for other services.
In addition to the mobile unit, TDOSHS has set up temporary Driver Services locations at the Unicoi Police Department, situated at 3600 Unicoi Drive, and at Newport Grammar School, located at 301 College Street. These temporary sites also offer duplicate identification licenses and driver licenses to flood victims and maintain the same operating hours until October 4, 2024.
Many Driver Service transactions can also be completed online. For more information on TDOSHS’s online services, visit their website.
