Businesses located in eight East Tennessee counties have been granted an extension until May 1 to file their franchise and excise tax returns, as well as their Schedule G franchise tax refunds. Disaster Unemployment Aid for Tennessee Counties

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development has announced that FEMA is offering Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) to residents in eight Tennessee counties affected by Tropical Storm Helene. Eligible individuals in Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Johnson, Unicoi, and Washington counties can apply for assistance if their employment or self-employment was impacted by the disaster. The application period runs from October 3, 2024, to December 2, 2024. Applicants can file online at Jobs4TN.gov or by phone, and must submit required documentation within 21 days of their application.
