Stolen Goods and Firearms Recovered in Nashville Arrest

Two individuals arrested after $60,000 in stolen goods and firearms seized in Nashville.

In a recent operation by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD), two individuals have been arrested following the seizure of over 250 stolen items and four firearms from a residence on Pinehurst Drive. The arrests resulted from coordinated efforts by the MNPD’s Organized Retail Crime and Fraud Units, SWAT, and East Precinct Patrol.

During the execution of a search warrant, law enforcement officers confiscated construction equipment and tools valued at more than $60,000, reportedly stolen from local stores including Home Depot, Lowes, and Harbor Freight. The suspects, Hector Ibanes-Huerta, 44, and Stephanie Kay Powers, 41, were apprehended after admitting to selling the stolen goods on Facebook Marketplace.

Among the items seized were four firearms, two of which had been reported stolen from Nashville. Due to a previous domestic assault conviction in 2013, Powers is legally prohibited from owning firearms. Similarly, Ibanes-Huerta, as a non-U.S. citizen, is also barred from firearm possession.

Ibanes-Huerta faces charges including four counts of unlawful weapon possession, two counts of theft of a firearm, theft of property exceeding $60,000, and simple drug possession, with a bond set at $82,000. Powers has been charged with three counts of weapon possession with a domestic violence conviction, two counts of theft of a firearm, and theft of property exceeding $60,000. Her bond is set at $75,000.
