Shelby County Driver Centers to Close for Upgrades

Two Driver Services Centers in Shelby County will close temporarily for equipment upgrades.

The Department of Safety and Homeland Security has announced the temporary closure of two Driver Services Centers in Shelby County for the installation of new credentialing equipment and self-service kiosks. The Memphis/East Shelby Drive Driver Services and Reinstatement Center, located at 3200 East Shelby Drive, will be closed on Tuesday, October 8, and will reopen the following day on Wednesday, October 9. Similarly, the Bartlett Express Services Center at 6340 Summer Ave. will close on Wednesday, October 9, and will resume operations on Thursday, October 10.

These new self-service kiosks are designed to facilitate a variety of Driver Services transactions. Customers will be able to renew or replace a duplicate Driver License or ID Card, change their address, update emergency contact information, advance a Teen/Graduated Driver License, pay reinstatement fees, and request a license reissue after meeting reinstatement requirements. The kiosks will also have the capability to take photos and process payments through Apple Pay, Google Pay, or credit and debit cards.

Roadway Activities Scheduled in East and Middle Tennessee
