Nashville Event Supports Independent Venues and Artists

New event promotes Nashville's independent music venues and local artists.

A new music event titled “615 Indie Live” is set to take place in Nashville on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Organized by the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp and Music Venue Alliance Nashville (MVAN), the event aims to celebrate and support the city’s independent venues and local artists. It will feature performances across thirteen venues, with more than 40 artists and bands participating, covering a range of genres from indie rock to jazz and hip hop.

The event will run from noon until 2 a.m., allowing attendees to experience shows at multiple locations. Event passes, which include all taxes and fees, are priced at $15 and provide access to all participating venues. Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards MVAN’s Emergency Relief Fund, which assists independent venues during financial challenges.

Presale tickets are available until November 1, 2024. Those who purchase passes before midnight on October 31, 2024, will be entered into a draw to win a Project 615 gift bag and a citywide attraction pass. More information about the event can be found on the official website.

Deana Ivey, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, emphasized the importance of independent music venues as a platform for emerging artists. She expressed hope that the event would encourage locals and visitors to discover new music and venues, especially during the slower winter season.

Participating venues include 3rd and Lindsley, Acme Feed & Seed, Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge, DRKMTTR Collective, Eastside Bowl, Music Makers Stage at Delgado Guitars, Night We Met, Rudy’s Jazz Room, The 5 Spot, The Basement, The Blue Room Bar at Third Man Records, The East Room, and The End. Details about the performing artists and bands will be announced in the coming weeks.

Chris Cobb, President of MVAN, highlighted the critical role of independent venues in Nashville’s live music ecosystem. He noted that recent studies demonstrate the pressures these venues face, making initiatives like “615 Indie Live” crucial for their support and sustainability. Cobb expressed gratitude to the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp for their partnership in this endeavor, which he sees as vital to preserving Nashville’s musical heritage.
