A motorcyclist involved in a fatal accident on I-24 West early Sunday morning has been preliminarily identified as a 24-year-old man from Fort Campbell. The crash occurred between the Old Hickory Boulevard and Joelton exits at approximately 2:30 a.m. The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to confirm his identity and inform his family.
Witnesses reported that the motorcyclist was traveling at speeds over 100 mph before the crash. The accident occurred when the motorcyclist lost control while navigating a curve in the road, resulting in a fatal crash at the scene. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time, and there were no indications of impairment.

Raybon Porter, 25, was fatally shot in a parking lot at 2510 Murfreesboro Pike early Sunday morning, when occupants of two vehicles began firing guns. Porter, who was not the intended target, was struck while talking to a friend and later died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
