Two individuals, Orlando Valdes-Hernandez, 34, and Milleni Garcia, 38, have been apprehended in Miami in connection with a recent million-dollar robbery at a jewelry store in Nashville. The duo was identified as suspects in the robbery of Dubai Jewelers, located on Nolensville Pike, which occurred last Wednesday. They were found enjoying their time at a luxury hotel in Florida when Miami Beach Police, acting on a request from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD), made the arrest.
The suspects were identified through comprehensive social media research conducted by MNPD Detective Kevin Keating and his team. During the incident, Valdes-Hernandez reportedly jumped over the store counter, pepper-sprayed an employee, and forced them into a back room where another employee was present. He allegedly brandished a pistol, instructing both employees to lie on the floor while Garcia and an unidentified accomplice took jewelry and gold from the display cases. Valdes-Hernandez is also accused of taking additional jewelry before fleeing the scene.
The Miami Beach Police have recovered some of the stolen jewelry and a wig believed to have been worn by Garcia during the robbery. Efforts are ongoing to identify the third suspect, who was described as wearing a toboggan cap and having dreadlocks. Anyone with information about this individual is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
Valdes-Hernandez and Garcia are currently being held without bond in Miami as fugitives from Nashville. Arrest warrants in Nashville charge Valdes-Hernandez with multiple offenses, including two counts of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and felony theft. Garcia faces charges including two counts of facilitating aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and felony theft.
The MNPD has expressed gratitude to their law enforcement partners, including the Miami Beach Police, the FBI, and the Nashville International Airport Police, for their assistance in this investigation.
