Jerry Holden, an employee with the Parks & Recreation Department, has been honored as the September recipient of the STARS Award, a recognition given to employees who demonstrate exceptional service excellence. The STARS Service Excellence program acknowledges those who exceed their standard job responsibilities by providing outstanding customer service to both internal and external clients.
Jerry was recognized for his swift and effective response during an emergency situation on the Greenway. When a family member collapsed and a 911 call was made, Jerry promptly assisted by transporting the individual to the park entrance to meet emergency medical services, significantly reducing the time for medical intervention.
STARS, which stands for “Succeeding Through Attitudes Reflecting Service Excellence,” highlights employees who positively represent the city, uphold core values, and contribute to enhancing citizens’ quality of life. Each month, a committee of City employees reviews nominations and selects the awardees.
Jerry’s dedication and quick action exemplify the essence of the STARS program, and his outstanding service has rightfully earned him this accolade. Congratulations to Jerry Holden on this well-deserved recognition.
