Investigation Continues in Fatal Nolensville Pike Hit and Run

Authorities seek information on a hit-and-run incident on Nolensville Pike.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is actively investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred on Nolensville Pike, leading to the tragic death of a 10-year-old girl, Emily Sanchez-Ramirez. The incident took place on a Saturday evening when a red Nissan vehicle struck the young girl and her mother, Laura Ramirez-Gonzalez, who were riding an electric scooter in the bike lane.

The collision, which occurred near Paragon Mills Road, resulted in Emily being critically injured and transported to Vanderbilt Pediatrics, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her mother, Laura, aged 28, was also injured and is currently receiving treatment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition.

Authorities report that the Nissan, which fled the scene, has sustained front-end damage, including a broken headlight, and bears a temporary tag. The vehicle was seen entering the bike lane at a high speed, striking the scooter.
