High School Sports Gear Up for Championships

Football season concludes as soccer and volleyball eye state titles.

As the high school football regular season nears its conclusion, Week 10 brings a full slate of regional matchups, with nearly 120 out of the approximately 176 scheduled games featuring regional rivalries. The 2024 BlueCross Bowl state football championships are scheduled for December 5-7 at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga. Playoffs will begin on Friday, November 8, and brackets will become available on TSSAAsports.com after Week 11 games.

Fans attending high school football games are encouraged to create a positive and respectful atmosphere. Demonstrating good sportsmanship towards players, coaches, and fellow spectators is important for fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the excitement of the game.

Historical highlights from previous matchups include Chester County versus Lexington, where both the 2022 and 2023 games ended with scores of 17-14. In the past three years, Jackson North Side has won against South Gibson Co. as the away team. Dyersburg has consistently defeated Liberty Technology Magnet at home in their last four meetings. Meanwhile, Forrest has won against Moore Co. as the away team since 2019.

For those who cannot attend the games in person, nearly 83 football games will be streamed this week on the NFHS Network live video platform. Subscribers can access all games for a monthly or annual fee, with coverage also extending to the girls’ soccer and volleyball state championships. The NFHS Network app is available for download on Google Play and the iTunes App Store, allowing fans to watch the games on their computers, tablets, or smartphones.
