The Department of Safety and Homeland Security has announced temporary closures for the Crossville Driver Services Center and the Driver Services at the Roane County Clerk. These closures are scheduled for equipment upgrades, including the installation of new credentialing equipment and self-service kiosks.
The Crossville Driver Services Center, located at 136 Dooley Street, will be closed on Monday, October 14, and will resume operations on Tuesday, October 15. Meanwhile, the Driver Services at the Roane County Clerk, situated at 200 E Race Street Suite 2 in Kingston, will close on Wednesday, October 16, and reopen on Thursday, October 17.
Additionally, the Athens, Chattanooga/Bonny Oaks, Chattanooga/Red Bank, and Cleveland Driver Services Centers, along with the Bradley, Grundy, Hamilton, McMinn, Monroe, Polk, Rhea, and Sequatchie County Clerk Driver Services partner locations, will also undergo equipment upgrades next week.
The newly installed self-service kiosks will enable customers to complete various Driver Services transactions. These include renewing or replacing a duplicate Driver License or ID Card, changing address details, updating emergency contact information, advancing a Teen/Graduated Driver License, paying reinstatement fees, and requesting a license reissue once reinstatement requirements are fulfilled. The kiosks will have the capability to take photographs and process payments via Apple Pay, Google Pay, or credit and debit cards.
