District Election Officer Appointed for West Tennessee

Assistant U.S. Attorney Will Crow to oversee election integrity in West Tennessee.

Acting United States Attorney Reagan Fondren has announced the appointment of Assistant United States Attorney Will Crow as the District Election Officer for the Western District of Tennessee. Crow will lead efforts to ensure the integrity of the upcoming November 5, 2024 general election in line with the Justice Department’s nationwide Election Day Program. His responsibilities will include overseeing election day complaints related to voting rights concerns, threats to election officials or staff, and election fraud, in collaboration with the Justice Department Headquarters in Washington.

Fondren emphasized the importance of protecting the right to vote, stating that voting is fundamental to American democracy. The Department of Justice plays a critical role in addressing discrimination and intimidation at the polls, threats to election officials, and election fraud, aiming to maintain public confidence in the electoral process. Federal law protects against crimes such as intimidation of voters, bribery, vote buying and selling, and altering vote tallies, among others.

Assistant United States Attorney Crow will be available to respond to complaints and direct them to the appropriate authorities. The public can reach him at 901-544-4231. Additionally, the FBI will have agents available to receive allegations of election fraud across the country, with the Nashville Division covering Tennessee reachable at 865-544-0751.

The Department of Justice encourages individuals with information on voting rights concerns or election fraud to contact the Civil Rights Division in Washington, DC, by phone at 800-253-3931 or via the online complaint form on the [Civil Rights Division website](https://civilrights.justice.gov). In cases of violence or intimidation, individuals are advised to contact local law enforcement by calling 911 before reaching out to federal authorities, as state and local police can respond more swiftly to emergencies.
