On September 26 and 27, 2024, severe weather, including heavy rainfall and flash flooding, impacted significant portions of Tennessee, affecting many residents and properties. In response, Governor Lee issued Executive Order No. 105 on September 27, 2024, declaring a major disaster and state of emergency. This order encourages state agencies to assist those adversely affected and consider these circumstances when providing services.

In alignment with the executive order, TennCare is taking measures to ensure that health coverage applications and services for its members are not disrupted in the following counties:

– Greene

– Hamblen

– Hawkins

– Johnson

– Unicoi

– Washington

Tennessee Guardsmen Aid Flood Rescue Efforts

The Tennessee National Guard is assisting with rescue operations in East Tennessee following severe flooding caused by Hurricane Helene, using both ground and aerial resources to evacuate individuals and assess damages.
