Arrest in Nashville Leads to Seizure of Drugs and Weapons

A 21-year-old was arrested in Nashville for possessing drugs and firearms in a stolen car.

Vehicle Crimes detectives in Nashville apprehended Antoine Maupin, a 21-year-old resident of Bell Road, after he was found in possession of a stolen Dodge Charger containing firearms and drugs. The arrest occurred following a traffic stop attempt in East Nashville. The Dodge Charger, originally stolen from Clarksville, was located using its Sirius XM radio tracking to pinpoint its position on Fairfield Avenue.

Detectives observed Maupin conducting a drug transaction, prompting them to initiate a stop on Baptist World Center Drive. However, Maupin fled the scene, leading officers to deploy spike strips that disabled the vehicle on Cowan Street. Upon exiting the car, Maupin attempted to escape on foot but was quickly apprehended by the authorities.

During the pursuit, a pistol equipped with a Glock switch was discovered along Maupin’s path. Additionally, cocaine was found in his possession. Further investigation of the Charger revealed another handgun, several bags of marijuana, methamphetamine, and various pills.

Maupin now faces multiple charges, including four counts of drug possession, felony weapon possession, two counts of evading arrest, and motor vehicle theft. He is currently held on a $160,000 bond.
