6th Grader Arrested for School Threat in Tennessee

An 11-year-old student was arrested for making a violent threat against his school.

A sixth-grade student from JFK Middle School in Antioch was taken into custody following allegations of making threats against his school. The 11-year-old reportedly communicated the threat through text messages to fellow students and posted a photo on Instagram in which he was holding firearms. Despite the school being on fall break, the arrest was carried out at the student’s home by officers from the South Precinct.

The student now faces charges in Juvenile Court for making a threat of mass violence and for false reporting. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) emphasized the seriousness with which they handle threats directed at schools, events, and businesses, stating that any individuals identified as responsible will be subject to prosecution.
