From September 25 to October 2, 2024, road construction projects in West Tennessee will lead to possible daytime or nighttime lane closures in various locations across 21 counties in Region 4. These closures are necessary for repairs and new installations.
### District 47
**Benton County**
– **I-40**: Resurfacing from S.R. 69 (MM 126) to the Humphreys County line will cause nighttime lane closures. Intermittent ramp closures are also expected.
– **SR 391**: Resurfacing from US 70W (SR 1, LM 0.00) to US 70E (SR 1 LM 5.31) will cause temporary lane closures.
**Carroll County**
– **SR-76 (US-79)**: Grading, drainage, noise walls, signals, and paving from S.R. 77 (L.M. 1.89) to Cutlip Lane (L.M. 7.29) will cause lane closures.
– **Meadowbrook Lane**: Closed starting September 16, 2024, with a detour provided.
**Dyer County**
– **SR-20**: Repair of the bridge on US 412 (SR 20) over the North Fork Forked Deer River will lead to temporary lane closures. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with a 12’ lane restriction and a 5’ shoulder. Speed limit reduced to 55 MPH.
– **SR-211**: Bridge over the North Fork Forked Deer River will have outside lane closures for inspection starting August 9, 2024.
– **I-155**: Resurfacing from the Mississippi River Bridge to near the Rest Area including bridge expansion joint repairs will cause temporary lane closures.
**Gibson/Carroll County**
– **SR-76 (US-79)**: Construction work from west of Cades-Atwood Road in Gibson County to east of SR 77 in Carroll County will cause temporary lane closures.
**Henry/Weakley County**
– **SR-22**: Resurfacing with HOT IN-PLACE RECYCLING from the Carroll County Line in Henry County to SR 217 in Weakley County will cause temporary lane closures.
**Obion County**
– **SR-22**: Resurfacing from SR-5 to SR-21 including bridge joint expansion joint repair will cause temporary lane closures.
### District 48
**Chester County**
– **U.S. 45 (SR 5)**: Bridge repair work will cause lane closures for southbound traffic starting October 1, 2024.
**Gibson and Crockett County**
– **SR 152**: Resurfacing from US 412 (SR 20) to U.S. 70A (SR 366) will cause temporary lane closures with one lane open at all times.
**Hardin County**
– **SR 69**: Resurfacing from Holland Creek Rd. to Freewill Lane will cause temporary lane closures with one lane open at all times.
– **SR 128 over the Pickwick Dam**: Rehabilitation work may cause temporary lane closures with one lane remaining open.
**Haywood County**
– **I-40 (MM 60 to 67)**: Nightly lane closures for resurfacing work from September 25 to October 2, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.
**Madison County**
– **U.S. 412 (S.R. 20)**: Resurfacing from U.S. 70 (S.R. 1) to Liberty-Claybrook Rd will cause temporary lane closures with one lane open at all times.
– **I-40 Exit 85 Interchange and Christmasville Rd.**: Possible shoulder closures for geotechnical work at the interchange starting September 9.
– **US70 from Loves Truck stop to I-40**: Temporary lane closures for resurfacing work on September 26, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
– **SR152 to I-40 Westbound on-ramp (Exit 93)**: Exit ramp closures for resurfacing on September 25 and 26, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
### District 49
**Fayette County**
– **SR-222 including the I-40 interchange (Exit 42)**: Temporary lane closures in both directions for grading, drainage, signals, and paving.
– **SR-222 over Little Laurel Creek (LM 3.66)**: Closed to through traffic for approximately 21 days starting September 23, 2024, with a detour via I-40 and SR 59.
– **US-51 (SR-3)**: Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures with at least one lane open in each direction at all times.
– **SR-19**: Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions.
**Shelby County**
– **I-240 at Exit 24 (Millbranch Rd.)**: Ramp closures for vegetation removal on September 18 and 19, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
– **I-40 at Danny Thomas Blvd**: Ramp closure for vegetation removal on September 20, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
– **SR-3 from near Babe Howard Blvd to the Tipton County Line**: Nightly resurfacing activities from 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.
– **SR-4 from South of Shelby Drive (L.M. 1.10) to the Raines/Perkins Road interchange (L.M. 3.50)**: Nightly lane closures for roadway widening activities, with one lane open in each direction.
– **SR-14 (Austin Peay Highway)**: Shoulder and temporary lane closures for widening work.
– **I-240 at Exit 23 (Airways Blvd.)**: Ongoing temporary lane closures until September 15, 2024.
– **I-55/Crump**: Various lane restrictions and detours.
– **SR-23 (Walnut Grove Rd)**: Nightly lane closures for resurfacing activities from Poplar Ave to I-240.
**Tipton County**
– **US-51 (SR-3) at Kenwood Avenue**: Temporary lane closures for safety improvements with at least one lane open in each direction.
**TDOT District 49 On-Call Concrete Pavement Repair in Shelby County**
– **I-40 at North Watkins Street**: Lane closures for concrete pavement repair on September 19 and from September 20-23.

Murfreesboro Approves Road Closure for Town Creek Project
The Murfreesboro City Council has approved closing a segment of Hickerson Drive in Spring 2025 to enable the Town Creek daylighting project, which will repair stormwater piping and transform the area into a green space. The project, funded by the America Rescue Plan Act, includes demolishing buildings, constructing a pedestrian bridge, and enhancing downtown with new trails.
