Two Fatally Shot on Fields Drive Sunday Morning

Two men were fatally shot on Fields Drive during an altercation at a party.

On Sunday morning, two men were fatally shot in an incident on Fields Drive. The victims have been identified, with one being Angel Valdez-Nives, a 19-year-old man, and the other, Steven Gutierrez, 41, who resided at the location of the shooting.

According to homicide detectives, the shooting occurred around 4 a.m. during a party. Witnesses reported that an argument broke out, during which Gutierrez allegedly shoved Valdez-Nives. In response, Valdez-Nives drew a gun from his waistband and shot Gutierrez multiple times.

Emergency services transported Gutierrez to Skyline Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, Valdez-Nives fled the scene with a group of friends. He was later dropped off at Summit Medical Center with a single gunshot wound and died shortly after arrival. Authorities are currently working to notify his next of kin.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding how Valdez-Nives was shot is ongoing.

Man Arrested for Road-Rage Shooting on I-440

David Joseph Bush, 23, has been arrested and indicted for multiple crimes related to a road-rage shooting incident that took place last September on I-440 near Nolensville Pike, involving Davidson County Chancery Court Judge I’Ashea Myles. Bush was identified through ballistic evidence and cell phone data, linking him to this and another shooting. He faces charges including attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault, with bond set at $500,000. Bush was already free on bond from a previous road-rage shooting arrest.
