The Department of Safety and Homeland Security in Middle Tennessee has announced the temporary closure of multiple Driver Services locations for a one-day equipment upgrade. This upgrade will involve the installation of new credentialing equipment and self-service kiosks.

Additionally, the Covington Driver Services Center in Tipton County will also close for an equipment upgrade on Friday, Sept. 27, and will reopen on Monday, Sept. 30.
The new self-service kiosks will enable users to complete numerous Driver Services transactions such as renewing or replacing a duplicate Driver License or ID Card, changing an address, updating emergency contact information, advancing a Teen/Graduated Driver License, paying reinstatement fees, and requesting a license reissue after meeting reinstatement requirements. The kiosks are equipped to take photos and process payments using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a credit or debit card.

Temporary Closure of SR 222 in Fayette County
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will temporarily close SR 222 over Little Laurel Creek for 21 days starting September 23, 2024, to construct a new bridge, with detours via I-40 and SR 59 and local traffic maintaining access.
