A student’s tip led to the recovery of a loaded handgun this morning at Hillsboro High School. Acting on the provided information, school administrators conducted a search of a 14-year-old freshman’s bag and discovered the weapon. The student has been charged in Juvenile Court with carrying a gun on school property. The student reported that he had taken the gun from a drawer at home.
