We are now five weeks into the high school football season, with six weeks left in the regular season. Here’s a look at the 168 games scheduled for Week 6.
This week, 110 games will feature region versus region matchups. Over 20 schools are taking a bye week, and six teams will face non-TSSAA opponents. Fans, whether in the stands or watching from home, are encouraged to support their teams enthusiastically while upholding the spirit of good sportsmanship. Courtesy, fair play, and respect for opponents and officials are essential to the game. Show your team spirit, but do it with class!
### Historical Notes
– **Upperman at Cumberland County**: For the last three years, the score margin has consistently been exactly 34 points.
– **Hendersonville at Beech**: This region game features a cross-town rivalry that has existed for years. Both teams are 4-1 on the season and 1-0 versus region opponents.
– **Middle Tennessee Christian at Friendship Christian**: Since 2019, the home team has secured the victory between these two teams.
– **Stone Memorial at Dekalb County**: Over the past four years, the margin between these regional opponents has been three points or less.
– **Oneida at Greenback**: In the last six meetings between these two teams, the home team has been victorious. These teams also have playoff history; in 1992, Oneida defeated Greenback 17-12 in the semifinals.
– **Clarksville Northeast at Henry County**: Henry County won 43-14 in the 2013 playoff semifinals.
