Pedestrian Fatally Injured on I-65 Near Nashville

A pedestrian was fatally injured after exiting a vehicle on I-65 in Nashville.

A pedestrian was fatally injured on Sunday night on I-65 south near the Rosa L. Parks Boulevard exit. The incident involved Romayne Soiseth, a 73-year-old resident of Turlock, California.

According to reports, Soiseth had been traveling as a passenger in a vehicle for approximately 14 hours from California. Feeling claustrophobic during stop-and-go traffic on the interstate, Soiseth exited the vehicle. Despite the driver’s attempts to get him back into the vehicle, Soiseth jumped over the center concrete barrier and ran into the southbound lanes of I-65. There, he was struck and fatally injured by a southbound Ford Focus driven by a 23-year-old man from Nashville. No charges will be filed in connection with the incident.

Fatal Single Vehicle Crash on Stagner Road

Adam Clinard, 28, from Madison, died in a single vehicle crash on Stagner Road near Bidwell Road early Saturday morning when his Nissan Sentra left the roadway and hit a tree. Authorities found no evidence of impairment at the scene.
