New Certificate of Insurance System for Metro

Metro will use CTrax for tracking certificates of insurance starting November 1, 2024.

Effective November 1, 2024, the Division of Purchases for Metro Nashville will start using CTrax for tracking certificates of insurance (COIs). This new system means that Metro will no longer accept COIs via physical or electronic mail for contracts processed through the Division of Purchases.

“This is the next step in making it easier to do business with Metro,” said Terri Ray, head of the Procurement Resource Group, which manages insurance compliance for Metro contracts. “Utilizing CTrax will ensure our suppliers maintain the appropriate levels of insurance, while also making our processes more environmentally friendly.”

Suppliers with active contracts with Metro will need to upload COI renewals directly into CTrax. The system will provide automatic reminders to suppliers when it is time to upload a new COI as the current one expires.

“Reducing risk and making our process more sustainable are both wins for the city,” said Dennis Rowland, Purchasing Agent & Chief Procurement Officer for Metro. “We’re dedicated to making our process as efficient as possible for our suppliers; this change helps us meet that goal.”

An information session for suppliers and prospective suppliers will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 3:00 PM CT via WebEx. Advance registration is required.
