Nashville Woman Faces Criminal Homicide Charge After Initial False Claim

A Nashville woman is charged with criminal homicide after admitting to shooting her boyfriend.

A Nashville woman who initially claimed that an unknown man killed her boyfriend is now facing a criminal homicide charge. Jyala Hall, 24, had told police that an unknown man dressed in all black with a hoodie shot her boyfriend, Brandon Calloway, 23, through the back door of their home on Brickmont Drive on the night of August 10.

However, in a recent interview with homicide detectives, Hall admitted that she fired the shot through the rear door of the residence during a prolonged argument with Calloway. The ongoing investigation had led detectives to doubt Hall’s initial account as the evidence did not support her story.

Hall is now being booked on a charge of criminal homicide.
