Nashville Woman Arrested for Child Endangerment

A Nashville woman was arrested for leaving her three children unattended in a hot car.

A Nashville woman has been arrested and charged with three counts of misdemeanor child endangerment. The incident occurred when Ty’Jha’N’E Manning, 24, left her three young sons, all under the age of five, unattended in a parked, unventilated car while she went into the County Clerk’s Office on President Ronald Reagan Way.

A passerby noticed the children in the car and alerted the authorities. Upon arrival, Central Precinct officers opened the doors of the unlocked Nissan Altima sedan, moved the children to an air-conditioned vehicle, and called for EMS from the Fire Department to check on the children. Manning returned to her car after several minutes and was subsequently taken into custody. A judicial commissioner has set her bond at $7,500.

The Nashville police department reminds parents and caregivers of the dangers of leaving children in unattended vehicles, especially in extreme heat conditions.
