Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball is set to bring professional women’s basketball to Nashville, Tennessee, as the Nashville Municipal Auditorium will host the league’s fourth championship season this winter. The 24-game campaign will run from February 5 to March 2, 2025. The league, known for its playoff-level intensity in every game, features world-class talent; during the 2024 season, 29 of the 40 players had WNBA experience.
Group and season ticket deposits for the upcoming season are available now at AUProBasketball.com. The 40-player roster and the full schedule for the 2025 season, including broadcast information, game dates, and times, will be announced at a later date.
AU Pro Basketball was the first winter pro women’s basketball league to launch in the U.S. in 2021. It provides WNBA players the opportunity to stay in the U.S. during the WNBA offseason while offering playing opportunities for elite pro players not currently on WNBA rosters. The league features a unique scoring system where athletes earn points based on team wins and individual performance, leading to constant changes in the leaderboard. The top four athletes in the standings serve as captains and draft their teams each week. The player with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the individual champion.
Previous seasons of AU Pro Basketball took place in Las Vegas (2022) and Dallas (2023 & 2024). Allisha Gray won the 2024 AU Pro Basketball title, joining NaLyssa Smith (2023) and Tianna Hawkins (2022) as champions.
Athletes Unlimited is recognized for its innovative approach to professional sports. Its Advisory Board includes notable figures such as basketball legend Sheryl Swoopes, two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant, and U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team star Abby Wambach.
Megan Perry, Director of Basketball for Athletes Unlimited, expressed excitement about bringing the league to Nashville, highlighting Tennessee’s rich history in women’s basketball. Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell echoed this enthusiasm, emphasizing the city’s strong support for women’s sports.
Lexie Brown, chair of the AU Pro Basketball Player Executive Committee and a player for the Los Angeles Sparks, praised Athletes Unlimited for providing players the opportunity to play domestically during the WNBA offseason and for involving players in important league decisions.
