Investigative efforts by detectives from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department’s (MNPD) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit have resulted in the arrest of Alejandro Jarquin, 25, on six counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. The arrest followed several tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which identified Jarquin as the alleged owner of multiple Kik messaging app accounts used to upload and share child sex abuse material over the past five months.
The investigation revealed that each of Jarquin’s accounts had shared explicit material at least 25 times, with one account containing over 200 files depicting young boys engaged in sexual activity. Jarquin was apprehended at his Midtown residence by Violent Crimes detectives and remains in custody with a bond set at $300,000.
